Great Plains Health in North Platte, NE seeks a Surgical Technician to support perioperative care under the supervision of the perioperative nurse and the medical practitioner. The role focuses on facilitating safe surgical procedures and maintaining a sterile operating environment to optimize patient safety.

The Surgical Technologist will prepare instruments and supplies, assist the surgeon, and participate in universal protocol and ongoing professional development within a supportive team

Formación

• Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program, LPN, or on-the-job training.
• Oxygen Certification (Medication Aide Training Hospital based) required within 6 months of hiring; updated every 2 years.
• BLS required.
• Certification in Surgical Technology if eligible to take certification exam.
• Special Procedures ORT Completes SGNA Associates Program within 6 months of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy, physiology, surgical procedures, cleaning, sterilization techniques, universal precautions, and aseptic techniques.
• Prepares the instruments, supplies, endoscopes and equipment necessary during the surgical and invasive procedure; prepares instrumentation for high-level disinfection or terminal sterilization.
• Understands the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon while maintaining sterile technique.
• Continues professional development by participating in education, training, in-services, etc.
• Maintains quality patient care during invasive/operative procedures and ensures sterile field; checks integrity and sterility of instrument sets.
