Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital is seeking a Surgical Services Support Technician for the OR. You will transport patients, assist nurses during surgeries, and ensure a clean, safe operating environment.

This role requires a High School Diploma or GED, BLS certification, and at least one year of customer service. A flexible schedule with weekend rotations may be required to support Saturday surgeries.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross upon hire or within the hire period.
• At least one year of customer service experience.
• Experience working in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients to designated areas per nursing requests.
• Assist nursing caregivers during surgical cases as requested.
• Maintain and control support services equipment and supplies.
• Keep the OR clean, safe, and sanitary.
• Escort and direct customers to the appropriate source for assistance.
• Provide a safe environment for patients and families.
• Log tasks in electronic systems.
• Assist with prepping and shaving patients for surgery.
• Coordinate Uniform Room activities for OR personnel.
• Handle and dispose of hazardous waste.
• Follow cleaning requests for radioactive waste and infection control cases.
