Job summary

University Hospitals in Ohio seeks an Operating Room Assistant for full-time day shifts to support operative teams and maintain clean, ready operating suites. Responsibilities include transporting patients and equipment, stocking supplies, and assisting with case turnover.

Qualifications include a High School GED and preferred OR cleaning experience; candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and handle hazardous materials with training provided.

Qualifications

Must be able to lift and push heavy objects such as patients, supply and patient carts, beds, and equipment.
Must have knowledge of safe and proper handling of hazardous waste and other substances.
Must have knowledge regarding various positioning equipment.
Must have CPR skills.
In constant motion.

Responsibilities

Facilitate the efficient turnover of operating rooms between cases and preparation for the following case.
Transport patients, trays, blood gases, specimens and equipment.
Support operative team with various requests while cases are in progress.
Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively to enhance patient care and daily operations.
Participate as a productive member of the OR Assistant team.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards and PHI safeguarding requirements.
