Job summary

The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. is hiring an Operating Room Assistant for a 32-hour rotating schedule in our OR clinical support team. This onsite role supports patient care, safety, and efficient operating room operations at 75 Francis Street.

Responsibilities include assisting the surgical team, transporting patients, and ensuring proper patient identification and safety procedures. Prior OR exposure is preferred; High School diploma required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• 3 1 year experience in medical office, hospital, or managed care preferred.
• 1 year operating room experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient/family focused care with cordial greetings and interactions with patient, families and hospital personnel.
• Provides hospital/unit orientation information for guests, patients and families.
• Demonstrates awareness of hospital systems and procedures, location of departments and services.
• Refers patients, families and others to appropriate resources.
• Independently transports and assists in patient transfers.
• Properly identifies patients using two approved identifiers.
• Ensures safety measures during patient transfer (bedrails, blankets, warmth).
• Aware of precautions when transferring patients.
