Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking an OR Surgical Aide to support the patient care team at Newton-Wellesley Hospital on site. This role transports patients and assists nursing staff with patient care, positioning, and preparing for procedures.

Responsibilities include cleaning, waste handling, specimen delivery, and maintaining a sterile environment in the operating room, under RN supervision. A high school diploma and CPR training are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Good physical dexterity.
• Able to communicate effectively; verbal and non-verbal communication skills important.
• CPR training required.

Responsibilities

• Understands isolation/precautions in patient care.
• Maintains inventory and ensures necessary supplies are ready for procedures.
• Transports patients to and from the Operating Room and assists nursing staff as needed.
• Performs between-case cleaning to minimize turnaround time between surgeries.
• Assists with shaving prep and preparation of instrumentation and room setup.
• Cleans and maintains sterile equipment and ensures proper waste disposal.
• Collaborates with nurses and surgical technologists to keep the OR clean and ready.
