Job summary

The role focuses on patient care, safety, and assisting the surgical team to maintain efficient operations. Responsibilities include greeting patients and families, orienting visitors, transferring patients, verifying patient identities, and supporting proper safety practices during transfers.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Experience in OR or medical office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes a patient/family focused care through cordial greeting and interactions with patient, families and hospital personnel.
• Provides hospital/unit orientation information for guests, patients and families.
• Demonstrates awareness of hospital systems and location of departments, procedure areas and other patient services.
• Refers patients, families and others to appropriate resources.
• Transfers and assists in patient transfer.
• Identifies patients using two approved identifiers.
• Ensures safety and transfer precautions are followed (bedrails, blankets).
• Aware of special precautions in transferring patients.
