Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a part-time Surgery Aide to support the Operating Room team. The role focuses on cleaning designated areas and equipment, and assisting with transport of patients and beds within Surgical Services.

You will assist nursing staff with restocking supplies in OR suites, and with returning equipment after procedures. The position is onsite with a 20-hour workweek, typically Monday through Friday mornings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Heart Saver and AED certification within 90 days of hire.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Experience in a medical patient care environment preferred.
• Experience in central processing and housekeeping preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office Outlook, Excel, Word required.

Responsibilities

• Cleans designated areas and equipment within the Operating Room Department.
• Assists with inventory and transport of patients and beds within Surgical Services.
• Assists nursing staff with restocking supplies in OR suites; assists with returning equipment after procedures.
• Demonstrates knowledge to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of patients served.
• Other duties as required.
