Job summary

NurseAmerica is seeking an experienced Traveling Operating Room RN for a 13-week assignment in the Pittsburgh, PA area. This role requires strong circulating and scrub skills across trauma, orthopedics, neuro, vascular, robotic, and general surgeries.

Shifts rotate across days, evenings, and nights with call and weekend requirements. Travel nursing experience and a valid RN license (compact accepted) are essential.

Qualifications

• Active RN license with Compact accepted.
• BLS certification.
• Minimum 2 years OR experience within last 3 years (3 years preferred).
• Minimum 1 year Level I Trauma experience within last 3 years.
• Minimum 1 year of recent travel nursing experience within the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide circulating and scrub experience across multiple surgical specialties.
• Support trauma, orthopedic, neuro, vascular, robotic, and general surgeries.
• Work rotating days/evenings/nights with call and weekend requirements.
• Coordinate with surgical team to ensure patient safety and efficiency.

Pay Package

• Weekly Gross Pay: $2,700
• Non-Taxable Stipend: $1,500
• Taxable Wages: $1,200

Position Overview

NurseAmerica is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) for an exciting travel opportunity in the Pittsburgh area, Pennsylvania. This position is ideal for a highly skilled perioperative nurse who thrives in a fast-paced surgical environment and is comfortable working with a wide variety of complex surgical cases.

The ideal candidate will possess strong circulating and scrub experience and demonstrate expertise in trauma, orthopedic, neurological, vascular, robotic, and general surgical procedures.

Requirements

• Active RN License (Compact Accepted)
• BLS Certification (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room experience within the last 3 years (3 years preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of Level I Trauma experience within the last 3 years
• Minimum 1 year of recent travel nursing experience within the last 3 years
• Strong circulating and scrub experience required
• One professional reference within the last 36 months
• No employment gaps exceeding 90 days in work history
• Previous permanent employees of the facility are not eligible

Required Clinical Experience

Candidates must be proficient in one or more these areas:

• General Surgery
• Orthopedic Surgery (Total Joints Required)
• Neuro Surgery (Craniotomy and Spine Required)
• Vascular Surgery
• Trauma Surgery
• Robotic Surgery (Da Vinci Experience Required)
• Transplant Surgery (Preferred but not required)

Scheduling Information

• Rotating shifts including days, evenings, and nights
• Call required on weekdays and weekends
• Weekend call may include Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday
• Up to 3 weekend call shifts during a 6-week schedule period
• Call response time: 30 minutes
• In-house call rooms available
• No block scheduling available
