Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• licensed RN in-state or compact license.
• Current BLS certification as a health care provider.
• Minimum of 1 year perioperative nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in emergency, elective and scheduled procedures.
• Work with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient care.
• Serve as liaison between surgical team and patients' families.
• Organize supplies needed for patients.
• Assess patients before, during, and after surgery; maintain sterile field.
• Perform count procedures to prevent retained objects.
• Intervene to maintain physiological balance during surgery.
• Administer medications per physician orders.
• Involve patient or family in post-operative care decisions.
