Job summary

Apex Home Health, Hospice & Home Care is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in Pediatrics and OR care for a PRN position in a Pediatric Acute Care Hospital. The role focuses on providing high-quality perioperative nursing for young patients and coordinating with the surgical team.

The ideal candidate holds an Ohio RN license with a BSN in progress, has strong assessment and critical thinking skills, and carries current BLS/ACLS (PALS preferred) and AHA certifications.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be actively pursuing RN license in Ohio.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS preferred.
• CNOR certification highly preferred.
• Experience in pediatric acute care, OR, or related laser/plastic surgery support is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to pediatric patients during surgery.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments in perioperative setting.
• Implement interventions to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Assist physicians with care plans and perioperative procedures.
• Maintain continuity of care between the operating room and patient care units.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in Pediatrics and Operating Room (OR) care for a PRN position in a Pediatric Acute Care Hospital.
Key responsibilities include: providing nursing care to pediatric patients during surgery, performing assessments, implementing interventions to ensure patient safety, assisting physicians with care plans, and maintaining continuity between the operating room and patient care units.

Qualifications And Skills Required

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in OR (Peds)
• Ohio RN license
• BSN degree or in progress
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; PALS preferred
• American Heart Association certification required
• CNOR certification highly preferred
• Ability to pass background screening and onboarding
• Experience in pediatric acute care, plastic reconstructive surgery, or laser procedures is a plus
