University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center’s Operating Room seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide perioperative care across a broad range of surgical specialties. You will scrub and circulate, ensure patient safety, and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the perioperative team in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Qualifications

• RN license in the State of Maryland; BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2–3 years of Operating Room RN experience; trauma experience preferred.
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Deliver independent, high-quality perioperative care across a broad range of surgical cases; anticipate needs, prioritize effectively, and drive safe, efficient case flow.
• Scrub and circulate surgical cases, maintaining accountability for patient safety, clinical outcomes, and continuity of care.
• Coordinate seamlessly with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the interdisciplinary team to support case progression and intraoperative needs.
• Apply evidence-based practice in real time and serve as a clinical resource during complex situations.
• Contribute to quality outcomes through NSQI participation, effective handoffs, and medication safety standards.
• Maintain full regulatory compliance and support audit readiness.
