Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room to support the perioperative team during surgical procedures. You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and staff to ensure safe, high-quality patient care in the OR.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, providing direct care, assisting with procedures and maintaining accurate medical records while upholding infection control and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Graduation from accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of South Carolina.
• AHA BLS certification required; Red Cross BLS acceptable.
• Experience scrubbing and circulating in the OR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the patient for scheduled procedures and assists in assessment.
• Provides direct patient care, monitors condition and reports changes.
• Assists physicians with examinations and procedures in the OR.
• Maintains patient privacy, comfort and a safe environment.
• Documents patient records accurately and maintains reports.
