Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Pflugerville is seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse to join a full-time, day-shift team. The OR RN coordinates perioperative care, conducts patient assessments, and develops individualized care plans, ensuring safe, efficient surgical experiences for patients and families.

Responsibilities include collaboration with surgeons, anesthesia, and staff, applying nursing processes, and adapting plans based on patient needs and institutional standards.

Qualifications

• RN licensed to practice in Texas (RN or LVN not specified; license required).
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; 2 years experience preferred.
• BLS certification required; strong clinical skills in OR nursing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care using the nursing process; develop, implement, and evaluate care plans.
• Assess patient needs, identify diagnoses, and monitor responses to treatment.
• Promote safe passage and minimize delays in the perioperative environment.
• Communicate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and staff; ensure accurate handoffs.
• Utilize clinical judgment to modify care plans and participate in quality improvements.
