Job summary

AdventHealth in Denver, CO is seeking PRN StaffFlex registered nurses for day shifts with guaranteed hours. This program offers contract assignments directly with AdventHealth across facilities, potential conversion to permanent staff, and no third-party scheduling.

As an RN, you will educate patients and families, administer medications, assist physicians, and ensure safe, compassionate care. Requires RN license, BLS, 2 years acute care experience; TNCC preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required.
• 2 years of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting.
• RN license and BLS certification required; TNCC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families from admission to discharge on care plans and medications.
• Document education and coordinate referrals as needed.
• Deliver competent nursing care and maintain a safe environment.
• Administer medications accurately and respond to codes.
• Assist physicians with bedside procedures.
• Manage admissions, transfers, and discharges professionally.

Schedule: 36-40 hours per week, Open to 0630-1700 x4 or 0630-1900 x3

Pay: $98/hr

Job Details:

• Provides necessary education to patients and families from admission to discharge, covering medical and nursing care plans, medications, tests, procedures, disease processes, and discharge instructions.
• Documents education provided, including patient responses and outcomes. Initiates referrals to healthcare providers as needed.
• Delivers competent, compassionate care to patients in pain according to policy and maintains a safe care environment.
• Administers medications accurately as ordered. Responds to unit and hospital code situations.
• Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients requiring oxygen support.
• Assists physicians with bedside procedures.
• Manages patient admissions, transfers, and discharges professionally.
• Verifies and signs off physician orders and obtains lab specimens as ordered.
• Evaluates the nursing care plan to ensure safe, competent care delivery.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes. [Required]
• Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows-based programs. [Required]
• Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills) [Required]

Education:

• Associate [Required]

Work Experience:

• 2 years of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting. [Required]
