Job summary

AdventHealth Littleton is seeking a qualified RN to join our StaffFlex program on a day shift. This PRN opportunity offers flexibility to work across multiple units within AdventHealth facilities while maintaining patient-focused care.

You will provide education from admission to discharge, administer medications, and support colleagues in delivering safe, compassionate care. Eligibility includes an RN license, BLS/ACLS, and English fluency.

Qualifications

• Must use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient outcomes.
• Basic computer skills – navigation of Windows-based programs.
• Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Provide education to patients and families from admission to discharge.
• Document education and patient outcomes; initiate referrals as needed.
• Deliver competent, compassionate nursing care and administer medications.
• Assist physicians with bedside procedures and manage admissions/transfers.

Details

• Provides necessary education to patients and families from admission to discharge, covering medical and nursing care plans, medications, tests, procedures, disease processes, and discharge instructions.
• Documents education provided, including patient responses and outcomes. Initiates referrals to healthcare providers as needed.
• Delivers competent, compassionate care to patients in pain according to policy and maintains a safe care environment.
• Administers medications accurately as ordered. Responds to unit and hospital code situations.
• Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients requiring oxygen support.
• Assists physicians with bedside procedures.
• Manages patient admissions, transfers, and discharges professionally.
• Verifies and signs off physician orders and obtains lab specimens as ordered.
• Evaluates the nursing care plan to ensure safe, competent care delivery.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes. [Required]
• Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows-based programs. [Required]
• Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills) [Required]

Work Experience

• 2 years of operating room nursing experience in an acute hospital setting. [Required]

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Preferred] OR Trauma Nurse Course Certified (TNCC) [Preferred]
