Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA is seeking skilled Operating Room Registered Nurses to join our OR West team. This Magnet-designated, Harvard-affiliated academic medical center offers a fast-paced perioperative environment and collaboration with nationally recognized surgeons. Position: Operating Room RN – Main OR.

Hours: 36 hours/week. Shift Options: 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts. Call requirements apply on off-shifts, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program; Baccalaureate degree strongly preferred.
• Completion of the Periop 101 program.
• Current MA RN license (or eligibility).
• BLS certification.
• 1-3 years OR experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care to patients and makes necessary nursing judgments.
• Coordinates the care of patients and directs assistive personnel to provide patient-centered care.
• Works in a collegial and collaborative relationship with other health professionals to determine healthcare needs.
• Maintains annual mandatory education requirements and participates in quality improvement activities.
• Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for own nursing practice and patient safety.
