Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center is seeking an experienced OR RN to deliver safe, high-quality intraoperative care for surgical patients. The role involves circulating and scrub duties, patient positioning, and strict sterile technique in a fast-paced operating room.

The position is full-time, day shift with rotating weekends/holidays and on-call requirements. Candidates should have an RN license in Connecticut and at least 1 year of intraoperative experience; specialty pay is available

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing is required.
• Valid RN license in Connecticut.
• 1+ years intraoperative nursing experience, including circulating and scrub experience.

Description:

Position Purpose

At Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, the Main Operating Room RN delivers safe, high-quality care to surgical patients.

What You Will Do

• Provide intraoperative care by performing circulating and/or scrub duties, including patient positioning, site prep, instrumentation, and sterile technique.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient, coordinated care throughout procedures.

Important Consideration

This role is not designed for new graduates or those seeking training through the Periop 101 program. Candidates must be able to function independently in the OR.

Minimum Qualifications

Required

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing is required.
• Valid RN license in Connecticut.
• Ideal candidates must have 1 or more years of intraoperative nursing experience, including circulating and scrub experience.

Preferred

• Current BLS/CPR (AHA or Red Cross)
• Familiarity with AORN standards

Position Highlights

• Full-Time: 40 hrs/week - Day Shift
• Rotating weekends/holidays; on-call required
• Specialty pay is available exclusively to experienced nurses with one or more years of RN experience
• Hourly position, included in RN Step Program pay range: $36.15 to $59.95
