Job summary

St. Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is seeking an RN to join the Operating Room nursing team. Full-time, day shift with varied start times and 7am–3pm or 9am–5pm options.

The RN will assess and plan patient care, supervise delegation, and support the surgical team in a high-stress environment. The role requires ASN, DE or Compact RN license, BCLS, and ACLS; BSN is preferred. Perioperative experience and CNOR are highly valued; benefits include comprehensive health

Qualifications

• ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Current DE or Compact RN license required.
• Current BCLS required or obtained by orientation.
• ACLS required or obtained by orientation (if applicable).
• 2 years perioperative nursing experience preferred or completed perioperative course with clinical rotations.
• CNOR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in the OR.
• Delegate patient care to team members as appropriate.
• Communicate with charge RN and act as a resource for the surgical team.
• Assist anesthesia with intubations when needed.
• Maintain sterile technique and universal protocol compliance.

St. Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for an RN to join our nursing team in our Operating Room!

Employment Type:

Full-Time, Day Shift

7am - 3pm, 8am - 4:30pm, and 9am - 5pm

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the delivery of patient care. The professional nurse assumes the responsibility and accountability for the delegation of patient care to other members of the healthcare team.

Perioperative Nursing Skills

• Assist scrub nurse; perform scrub duties as needed

• Prepare OR: supplies, equipment, sterile packs, medications

• Maintain records; ensure compliance with safety, asepsis, and Universal Protocol

• Proficient in Meditech; troubleshoot and operate unit-specific equipment

• Handle specimens, implants, and instruments per policy

• Provide patient/family support in high-stress settings; post-mortem care

• Use and update surgeon preference cards; maintain OR stock

• Communicate with charge RN; act as resource for surgical team

• Assist anesthesia with intubations

Requirements:

• ASN Required, BSN Preferred, from an accredited school of nursing

• Current DE or Compact State RN License required

• Current BCLS required or obtained by completion of orientation

• ACLS required or obtained by completion of orientation if Applicable to Area of Practice

• 2 years perioperative nursing experience preferred orSuccessful completion of a perioperative nursing course including didactic and clinical rotations

• CNOR certification preferred
