Job Summary and Qualifications

As an Operating Room RN, you will:

• Perform patient assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate care.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe and accurate care delivery.
• Complete age-appropriate assessments upon patient arrival.
• Assist with anesthesia induction and prepare patients for local anesthesia.
• Create and maintain a sterile surgical environment and perform surgical preps.
• Accurately document and report patient care.
• Demonstrate competency across surgical specialties and equipment.
• Participate in staff development and assist with new employee orientation.
• Complete annual competencies.

Qualifications required:

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in the Operating Room.
• Hospital experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current Texas RN license or Compact license (must obtain Texas license within 90 days if Compact).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification as per policy.
