Job summary

Owens & Minor is seeking an Operating Room Program Manager to be onsite in a hospital environment to advise customer of actions needed to maintain appropriate inventory of operating room supplies and devices. You will keep informed of all site information critical to determining actions needed.

The role requires managing the OR surgical supply chain, including O&M sales and non-distribution SKUs, advising on PAR levels, and coordinating with hospital personnel to ensure proper supplies for

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred in healthcare or related field.
  • CRCST or CST certification preferred.
  • 3+ years in healthcare surgical services or logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Advise customers on actions to maintain inventory for OR procedures.
  • Manage entire OR surgical supply chain and SurgiTrack components.
  • Forecast PAR levels and coordinate with hospital staff.
  • Coordinate device returns and identify sales opportunities.

Actual compensation may vary based on job-related factors including experience, skills, education, and location.Job SummaryThe Operating Room Program Manager resides onsite in the hospital environment to advise customer of actions needed to maintain appropriate inventory of operating room supplies and devices. Keeps informed of all information at the site which is critical in determining actions needed.Core ResponsibilitiesReports to assigned 1‐2 accounts on a daily basis, following a schedule mutually agreed upon with teammate’s manager.Manages entire Operating Room (OR) surgical supply chain, including Owens & Minor (O&M) sales and non‐distribution SKU’s.Manages physician preference devices. Manages devices which are described as ‘have available’ between the storage location and the operating room.Advises O&M on procedure frequency to determine PAR levels, prebuilds vs. ondemand, component inventory forecasting including hospital schedule (holiday inventory, etc.) and hospital personnel scheduling which may affect surgical demand (i.e., surgeon on vacation).Reviews surgery schedule and advises hospital personnel to order appropriate corresponding supplies.Advises the account on PAR levels of Surgitrack components stocked at the account.Physically alters PAR levels on devices purchased by the account through different supply chains (i.e., distribution, Surgitrack).Advises the account on items to add/change/remove from their preference cards.Processes device returns from the OR to the hospital PAR location or back to the distributor to determine additional sales opportunities (track actual device consumption per procedure).Works with suppliers to get new product, product changes, contracts, etc. in the system that are specific to the SurgiTrack procedures.Manages par level replenishment of finished goods’ SurgiTrackTM and components specific to OR procedures. Manages change process to devices supplied through Surgitrack in the account.Manages ordering for add‐on cases of SurgiTrackTM and components specific to OR procedures.Performs additional duties as directed.Qualifying ExperienceAssociate’s/Bachelor’s Degree preferred, preferably in healthcare or a related disciplinary areaCRCST or CST (Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician, Certified Surgical Technologist) certification preferred3 or more years of work experience in healthcare surgical services and/or logistics materials management and/or project management, required.Previous experience in LEAN or project/organizational management methodology, preferred.Or any equivalent combination of education and experience to meet the above requirementsKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge of surgical proceduresKnowledge of functionality of and the nuances between different brands of surgical devicesKnowledge of OR/surgical terminologyKnowledge of OR etiquette/processesKnowledge of supplies and devices required to perform surgical proceduresWhile looking at the surgical schedule, must have the ability to translate the ‘scheduled’ procedure name into a ‘supply’ procedure nameClear understanding of preference cardsAbility to work with clinical coordinators (i.e., service leaders) to specify supply and device requirements by surgical procedure and surgeonAbility to learn/utilize appropriate systems (QSight, OMNI, OMDirect, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, hospital OR management systems)Ability to discern errors within complex and detailed workWe also invite you to connect with the Recruiter via LinkedIn. #LI-TP1If you feel this opportunity could be the next step in your career, we encourage you to apply.
