Job Description

The Operating Room (OR) Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Attendant combines the responsibilities of a nursing assistant within a surgical setting. This role involves:

1. Patient care and preparation for surgery.
2. Ensuring all surgical areas are cleaned, organized, and equipped according to protocols.
3. Transporting patients of all ages safely, from infants to adults.
4. Assisting with patient preparations and positioning.
5. Running errands between interdisciplinary departments under the supervision of nurses and surgeons.

Requirements

• Current CNA certification listed with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Division of Health Service Regulation in good standing.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare setting; OR experience in an operating room is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross (required upon hire).
• Ability to pass a basic FIT test, including bending, stooping, standing, and sitting for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
