Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) + PACU Registered Nurse - Urology Surgical Center (Spokane Area)
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Operating Room (OR) Circulator Registered Nurse (RN) and PACU Registered Nurse to support outpatient surgical operations at a premier urology center in Spokane. This position requires an efficient, patient-focused clinician capable of managing a fast-paced environment with a volume of 9 to 12 cases per day.
This is currently a temporary contract assignment (480 hours / approx. 12 weeks) with the potential to convert to a Contract-to-Hire (CTH) opportunity depending on clinic needs and performance.
- Role Title: Operating Room Circulator Registered Nurse (RN) + PACU RN
- Setting: Outpatient Surgical Center / Specialty Clinic
- Location: Spokane, WA (On-site)
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (40 hours per week, no nights or weekends)
- Compensation: $37.00 - $58.00 per hour
- 1-3 years of experience will align with the lower end of the scale.
- 5+ years of experience will align with the higher end of the scale.
Key Responsibilities
- OR Environment Management: Oversee and coordinate all activity within the operating room, ensuring compliance with strict aseptic techniques and maintaining a sterile field.
- Patient Safety & Advocacy: Ensure patient safety before, during, and immediately following urological operations.
- Clinical Documentation: Accurately document comprehensive surgical care notes and patient information within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Surgical Team Collaboration: Assist the surgical and operations teams, proactively anticipating the needs of the surgeon and surgical techs during procedures.
Requirements & Qualifications
Required Credentials
- Licensure: Active, unrestricted Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Clinical Background: 3 to 5 years of experience working as an OR Circulator or in a similar perioperative RN role.
- Technology: Prior experience navigating EPIC Electronic Medical Record software. Proficient with standard computer applications (MS Word, Excel) and an aptitude for learning new software systems.
- Soft Skills: Proven ability to handle stressful, constantly changing clinical environments, work autonomously without constant supervision, and recognize precisely when to elevate critical situations.
