Job summary

JAX Jackson General Hospital in Ripley, WV seeks an experienced nurse leader to manage and coordinate nursing care for assigned patient groups. The role requires RN licensure, BSN, and 4 years of nursing experience with at least 2 years in management.

Responsibilities include staffing, budgeting, staff development, and driving quality and patient satisfaction initiatives in alignment with WVU Medicine standards.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in the state where services will be provided (or multi-state eNLC).
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire date.
• BSN preferred; specialty certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Advises the Director on hiring, retention, interviewing, and recruitment of staff.
• Maintains personnel records.
• Develops and implements ongoing educational programs for staff.
• Provides feedback and performance evaluations; counsels staff as needed.
• Monitors personnel and budget variances for the cost center.
• Assists in annual budget preparation for the cost center.
• Ensures cost-effective staffing and resource utilization.
• Communicates with physicians, nurses, and staff to resolve problems promptly.
• Promotes customer satisfaction and unit culture responsive to patients and families.
• Serves as a resource to quality improvement teams.
• Participates in staff meetings and trainings to disseminate information.
• Monitors funds for cost containment and appropriate usage.
• Maintains communication with Medical Staff and departments to identify and resolve issues.
• Assesses patient/family satisfaction during rounds and takes action to resolve.
