Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Clinical Nurse (RN) to provide safe, high-quality care using the nursing process and evidence-based practice. The role emphasizes Relationship Centered Care, collaboration with the care team, and patient education across the care continuum.

The nurse will deliver comprehensive patient care, participate in safety and quality initiatives, and support the unit through charge nurse activities and effective resource management.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Nursing program (BSN preferred).
• Licensed as a registered nurse with current NY registration.
• BCLS, NRP, ACLS and PALS certifications as applicable.
• RN may be matriculated in a BSN program with anticipated graduation.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient care using the nursing process and Relationship Centered Care.
• Assesses patient needs and applies critical thinking to care management.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to implement and evaluate care plans.
• Prioritizes teaching, rounding, and planning after hospital care.
• Educates patients and caregivers about plan of care and transitions.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and care team.
• Performs charge nurse duties and ensures adequate supplies for patient care.
• Documents accurately in accordance with policies and standards.
• Contributes to quality and safety initiatives and core nursing practice.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)

Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in NY

Basic Life Support (BCLS)

PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
