Job summary
AdventHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse – Operating Room Circulator to coordinate nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures in the South Overland Park area. The OR circulator ensures patient safety, verifies details with the team, and coordinates equipment and staff.
Required: Associate degree in Nursing and RN license; CNOR preferred; 1 year of OR experience; BLS certification. Family-friendly benefits and full-time day shifts offered.
Qualifications
- RN license required
- CNOR certification or eligible preferred
- Minimum 1 year operating room experience
- BSN preferred
Responsibilities
- Assess patient condition and monitor vital signs during procedures
- Prepare patient for surgery and assist with gowning/positioning
- Verify patient, procedure and site with surgical team and perform pre-procedure time-out
- Obtain or witness consent documentation as required
- Maintain sterile instruments and OR environment
- Document assessments and interventions in medical record
- Assist anesthesia with intubation/extubation and fluid management
- Support OR turnover and disposal of used supplies
- Communicate with surgical team for coordinated care
