Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor degree with a focus in Engineering or related field.
• Basic troubleshooting skills down to modular or circuit level.
• Ability to work with nurses, physicians, engineers and biomedical technicians.
• Knowledge of physiology and interfacing medical equipment to monitor changes.
• Knowledge of tools and materials used in biomedical equipment repair.

Responsibilities

• Follows preventive maintenance program for designated areas.
• Prepares cables, modules and clinical equipment for daily operation.
• Maintains interface with medical personnel on safe equipment use.
• Requests replacement parts and procures items as needed.
• Performs inspections and supports clinical personnel in life-support device operation.
• Rotates with other technicians for on-call coverage.
• Keeps records of work, PMI and repairs.
• Participates in training to expand knowledge.
