Job summary

Montefiore Hudson Valley Collaborative is seeking an Operating Room Attendant to support surgical services, transport patients, and assist in patient care within a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include aiding the staff nurse, meeting basic physical and psychological needs of patients and families, and helping maintain efficiency on the unit. Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of hospital experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to exert force frequently.
• One year of hospital work experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Staff Nurse in patient care.
• Meet basic physical and psychological needs of patients and families.
• Meet environmental needs of the unit and support efficiency.
• Transport patients to and from the operating room, position patients on stretchers, deliver specimens, and greet patients and families.
• Perform related work as directed by a Registered Professional Nurse.
