Responsibilities include aiding the staff nurse, meeting basic physical and psychological needs of patients and families, and helping maintain efficiency on the unit. Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of hospital experience.

• Must be able to exert force frequently.
• One year of hospital work experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience required.

• Transport patients to and from the operating room, position patients on stretchers, deliver specimens, and greet patients and families.

Overview

Responsibilities

• The Operating RoomAttendantassists the Staff Nurse in the care of the patient.
• Assists in meeting basic physical and psychological needs of the patients and their families.
• Assists in meeting the environmental needs of the unit and contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit.
• TheORAttendantperforms various patient care activities for surgical services such as transporting patients to and from the operating room, lifting and positioning patients on stretchers, delivering specimens to the laboratory, and greeting patients and families.
• Performs related work as required and/orassigned by the Registered Professional Nurse.

SCHEDULE:11AM -7 PM. Days vary.
