Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY is seeking an Operating Room Attendant to assist the Staff Nurse in patient care and support the PACU team. Primary duties include transporting patients to/from the operating room, lifting and positioning on stretchers, delivering specimens, and greeting patients and families; shift is nights, 11 PM–7 AM, 7.5 hours.

Education required: High School Diploma or GED. One year of hospital experience or equivalent training; must be able to exert force frequently.

Responsabilités

• Assist staff nurse in patient care.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Operating RoomAttendantassists the Staff Nurse in the care of the patient. Assists in meeting basic physical and psychological needs of the patients and their families. Assists in meeting the environmental needs of the unit and contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit.

TheORAttendantperforms various patient care activities for surgical services such as transporting patients to and from the operating room, lifting and positioning patients on stretchers, delivering specimens to the laboratory, and greeting patients and families. Performs related work as required and/orassigned by the Registered Professional Nurse.

SCHEDULE

11AM -7 PM. Days vary.
