Job summary

Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, CA is seeking an OR Assistant PRN to support the operating room team under minimal supervision. Responsibilities include patient preps, transporting patients and specimens, assisting with positioning and aseptic technique, and maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient perioperative environment.

The role requires BCLS certification, a high school diploma or GED, and 1–2 years of healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assists the nurse/physician with patient care as directed.
• Transports patients to surgery and communicates delays to the OR Charge Nurse.
• Assists in moving patients to the OR table and positioning limbs during preps.
• Performs pre-operative shave preps and room turnover within target times.
• Checks, cleans and restocks areas and completes check lists.
