Job summary

ECU Health is seeking an OR Transporter to identify, transport and position patients in the OR suite. You will assist nursing staff with equipment, prep, and maintain sterile conditions between cases.

Responsibilities include transporting specimens and beds, and performing shave prep as needed. The role offers day shift with rotating schedules and opportunities for career growth and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have BLS certification and high school diploma or higher.
• Career Levels: ORA I (less than 2 years, no cert) or ORA II (2+ years or 5+ years no cert) per policy.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to, from, and within the OR suite.
• Assist with patient positioning and turning onto the surgical table.
• Retrieve and return equipment and supplies; prepare necessary implants or fracture tables.
• Maintain OR cleanliness between cases and perform terminal cleaning.
• Handle transport of specimens, lab work, and patient beds to and from the OR; assist shave prep.

Job description

Position Summary

IIdentifies, transports patients to, from and within the OR Suite.

Assists with patient positioning which includes holding extremities during surgical prep, turning patients onto surgical table/frame.

Assist nursing staff with retrieving and returning equipment, supplies, implants. Assembles and stamps paperwork, prepares equipment ie; fracture table.

Clean the OR suite according to Policy and Procedure between cases and is responsible for terminal cleaning of the suite. Transport specimens, lab work, patients beds to and from the OR. Does shave prep of patient.

Minimum Requirements

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• High school diploma (or equivalent) or higher
• Career Levels:
  • ORA I: Less than 2 years of experience no certification.
  • ORA II: With 2 years and certification promote to II OR with 5 years no certification promote to II

Pay Range

$18.00 - $25.74
