Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a dedicated Patient Transporter to support high-quality patient care in the operating room environment. You will assist with patient transfers, verify identity, and help ensure safety and comfort during transport.

This onsite role at 90 Blossom Street requires strong communication, body mechanics awareness, and teamwork with surgical staff to meet the OR schedule. Evening shifts may apply with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Experience in Medical Office/Hospital/Managed Care 0-1 year preferred, OR experience 0-1 year preferred.
  • Ability to comprehend written directions for mixing cleaning supplies and ordering supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes patient- and family-centered care through professional interactions with patients and staff.
  • Provides orientation and wayfinding assistance to patients, families, and guests.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of hospital services, department locations, procedures, and resources.
  • Directs patients, families, and visitors to appropriate services and support resources.
  • Independently transports patients and assists with patient transfers as needed.
  • Verifies patient identity using two approved patient identifiers.
  • Ensures patient safety and comfort during transport and transfers, including proper safety devices.
  • Adheres to special handling and precautions for patients with isolation or specific clinical needs.
