UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s in Cleveland is seeking an OR Assistant to support operative teams by cleaning and disinfecting operating room suites, transporting patients and equipment, stocking supplies and performing other duties as assigned.

You will help facilitate turnover between cases, assist with case preparation, and communicate clearly to enhance patient care. This role requires adherence to PHI protections and UH policies.

A Brief Overview

Supports and assists operative teams with the daily flow of activities of the operating room (OR) and patient care by cleaning/disinfecting the operating room suites and related areas, transporting patients and equipment, stocking supplies, and performing other duties as assigned.Successful performance of this role helps UH provide safe, helpful and courteous care to patients and directly provides safe, helpful and courteous support services to operative teams.Initiates and performs tasks according to established guidelines.

What You Will Do

• Facilitate the efficient turnover of operating rooms between cases and preparation for the following case.
• Transport patients, trays, blood gases, specimens and equipment.
• Support operative team with various requests while cases are in progress.
• Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively to enhance patient care and facilitate daily operations.
• Participate as a productive member of the OR Assistant team.

• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
