Job summary

HCA Florida Westside Hospital in Florida is seeking an Operating Room Assistant to support life-changing surgeries by preparing rooms, transporting patients, and maintaining a clean, safe environment.

You will assist with stocking supplies, verify patient identities, and help ensure sterile conditions between cases, contributing to patient safety and high-quality care. Prior OR experience is a plus; CPR/BLS within 30 days is required.

Qualifications

• CPR/BLS within 30 days of employment start date is required
• Experience in an Operating Room setting is a plus
• Medical Terminology knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

• Preparing and stocking operating room with supplies and equipment to start procedures smoothly
• Transporting and transferring patients, verifying identity and following protocols
• Assisting with cleaning and turnover of operating rooms to maintain a sterile environment
• Monitoring equipment and reporting issues to support safe surgical operations
• Maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the surgical suite and common areas
