Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC is seeking an Operating Room Aide to assist with direct patient care and daily unit functions under licensed personnel.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: high school diploma or GED.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Obtaining equipment, supplies and positioning aids for operative cases.
• Assisting with setting up the operating room, holding limbs for surgical prep, and assisting with patient positioning under the direction of the RN circulator.
• Dismantling and transporting dirty instruments and equipment to the decontamination area.
• Performing room cleaning and turnover duties between cases and patient transport.
• Performing final checks of case carts to ensure that all needed supplies and equipment are available for surgical procedures.
