Job summary

CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs is seeking an Operating Engineer to independently perform journeyman-level duties for the energy plant, hospital, and related systems in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

You will design, construct, install, or maintain building systems to ensure safety, efficiency, and occupant comfort, while monitoring equipment and recommending optimization strategies. The role requires strong technical expertise and autonomous work with high safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent is required.
• 5+ years of work experience in power plant operating or completion of a four-year apprenticeship in power plant operation or an equivalent Healthcare or related field.
• Boiler Operator certification within Arkansas within 12 months is required.

Responsibilities

• Operates high-pressure boilers.
• Operates chillers and absorbers.
• Compiles water treatment reports.
• Maintains boilers, chillers, pumps, steam pipes and related machinery.
• Operates automated building control computer and makes corrections as needed.
• Operates/adjusts air handling equipment.
