Job summary

CommonSpirit Health’s CHI St. Vincent in Arkansas is seeking an Operating Engineer responsible for journeyman-level duties across energy plants, hospital systems and equipment.

You will design, install, or maintain building systems to ensure safety, efficiency, and occupant comfort, while monitoring operations and recommending fixes for optimum performance. Daily tasks include operating high-pressure boilers, chillers, absorbers, water treatment reporting, and maintaining pumps, steam lines, and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years power plant operating experience or completion of a four-year apprenticeship in power plant operation or equivalent within healthcare or related field.
• On hire without prerequisites beyond those listed.

*Job Summary and Responsibilities*

As an Operating Engineer, you will independently perform journeyman-level duties, responsible for daily operational issues concerning the energy plant, hospital, and associated equipment/systems. Every day, you will design, construct, install, or maintain building systems and equipment, ensuring safety, functionality, efficiency, and occupant comfort. You will also monitor equipment/system problems and recommend solutions for optimal facility performance. Success in this role requires extensive technical expertise, a strong commitment to safety and efficiency, excellent problem-solving, and autonomous work with high operational standards.

*Pay Range*

$18.96 - $26.78 /hour
