Job summary

JLL is seeking an Operating Engineer to support day-to-day operation, maintenance, and performance of building systems, including HVAC equipment, at an on-site location in Wellesley, MA. The role focuses on safe, reliable building performance and high-quality site service delivery.

Expected compensation ranges from 89,000.00 to 104,000.00 USD per year. The position requires a high school diploma and relevant experience in building operations. Visa sponsorship is not offered.

• Relevant experience in building operations, facilities, maintenance, engineering support, or HVAC environments.
• Working knowledge of HVAC systems (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning).
• Ability to support HVAC equipment documentation and maintenance tracking processes.
• Familiarity with refrigerant-specific HVAC equipment and related recordkeeping is a plus.
• Working knowledge of operational systems, maintenance procedures, and safe work practices.
• Ability to work within established procedures while exercising sound judgment in day-to-day operations.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot building systems and equipment, including HVAC systems.
• Support daily engineering operations to help ensure safe, efficient, and reliable building performance.
• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and basic repairs.
• Identify operational issues, respond promptly, and elevate as needed.
• Maintain logs, records, and maintenance documentation for building and HVAC equipment.
• Support equipment tracking and documentation for HVAC assets, including refrigerant-related information where applicable.
• Coordinate with site teams, vendors, and contractors to support uninterrupted operations.
• Look for practical ways to improve efficiency, service quality, and response times.

Position summary:

Comp-$43-$50/hour

What you'll do:

What we're looking for:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred qualifications:

• Technical, vocational, or trade training in HVAC, building systems, or a related field 3
• Experience supporting commercial HVAC operations, maintenance records, or equipment workflows

Expected compensation for this position:

89,000.00 - 104,000.00 USD per year

Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
