Job summary

The Music Academy Of The West seeks a Production Manager for Lehrer Vocal Institute to oversee day-to-day production, staging, and crew for summer programs including a mainstage opera. The role collaborates with directors, VP, and vendors to deliver high-quality productions.

Responsibilities include budgeting, scheduling, vendor coordination, and managing seasonal staff. The position is part-time, with remote off-season work and in-person duties in Santa Barbara during the summer festival.

Qualifications

• Previous opera production management experience.
• Experience with theatre audio, lighting, scenery, and costumes.
• Experience with ArtsVision or similar scheduling software.
• Experience managing budgets and teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify, hire, onboard, and coordinate production team for mainstage opera and up to two smaller productions.
• Devise and manage technical duties for preparation, rehearsal, and performance of productions.
• Guide production teams through design processes from concept to strike.
• Oversee day-to-day production for rehearsals and performances; coordinate with faculty and staff.
