Job summary

Everforth ECS is seeking a Red Hat OpenShift Cloud Engineer to support DoD cloud and AI solutions. The role covers OpenShift/Kubernetes operations across AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, on-prem, and hybrid environments, in DoD-sensitive settings.

Onsite/hybrid work is required at Fairfax, VA or Springfield, VA locations with SCIF access as needed. The engineer collaborates with senior SMEs and platform teams to deliver secure, scalable cloud solutions.

Qualifications

3+ years IT infrastructure, systems administration, or cloud engineering experience.
At least 2 years Kubernetes and/or OpenShift experience.
Experience administering OpenShift or Kubernetes environments, including workload deployment, configuration, upgrades/patching, troubleshooting, networking, storage, security, and monitoring.
Active Top Secret clearance with eligibility and willingness to obtain SCI access and a CI polygraph.
Bachelor of Science in a technical field or equivalent directly relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Deploy, configure, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Red Hat OpenShift environments under established architecture, standards and security requirements.
Support cluster administration including configuration, upgrades, patching, node management, networking, storage, security, monitoring, logging, backup/recovery, and performance troubleshooting.
Support Kubernetes/OpenShift workload including projects/namespaces, pods, deployments, services, routes/ingress, ConfigMaps, persistent storage, resource limits, and RBAC.
Assist onboarding and migration of customer and vendor/partner applications into OpenShift in coordination with development, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and platform teams.
Troubleshoot OpenShift, Kubernetes, container, Linux, networking, storage, and application platform issues; escalate to senior engineers/ SMEs as needed.
Provide Linux administration related to OpenShift platform operations (RHEL/CoreOS).
Support CI/CD, GitOps, and DevOps workflows using GitLab or comparable tooling.
Develop and maintain automation and infrastructure as Code using Ansible, Terraform, Helm, scripting, GitOps workflows, or similar tooling.
Support OpenShift operations across cloud, on-prem, hybrid, and classified environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government).
Maintain system configurations, SOPs, deployment procedures, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge documentation.
