Job summary

Amazon OpenSearch Service is hiring engineers to build and operate a cloud-scale search and analytics platform. You will design, develop, and maintain a scalable service used by AWS customers for log analytics, search, and AI-powered workloads.

You will work primarily with Java and Python, mentor teammates, and contribute to OpenSearch upstream while tackling distributed systems, storage, and security challenges in a fast-moving, startup-style environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

As a Senior Software Development Engineer on the Amazon OpenSearch Service team, you will:

Basic Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
