Job summary

University of Washington Libraries is seeking an Open & Interdisciplinary Research Support Program Operations Specialist to manage hardware and software for the Open Scholarship Commons, lead tech support for the OSC Recording Studio, and train staff and users on digital scholarship tools.

The role requires 3–4 years of end user support experience, strong communication, and the ability to work onsite with UW communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in arts, humanities, social sciences, or STEM or other relevant field and 3–4 years providing training or end user support around the use of digital tools and technology.
• Experience supporting, managing, and troubleshooting hardware and software systems, including Windows and macOS, in a complex organizational setting.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate, organize, and execute workshops or instructional programming in support of unit goals.

Responsibilities

• Manages Libraries resources related to open and interdisciplinary research support.
• Leads technology support and training for UW Libraries users.
• Serves as an active member of Open Scholarship & Publishing and Arts & Humanities units and broader University.
• Assumes other responsibilities as assigned.
