Job summary

The Health & Human Services Commission in Austin is seeking an Open Records Attorney to support the Open Records and Data Governance Department. This senior role handles complex requests under the Texas Public Information Act, reviews documents, and drafts responses for release or denial.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited law school with a J.D.
• Licensure by the Supreme Court of Texas and good standing with the State Bar of Texas.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with requestors and HHS system areas to clarify and address requests.
• Coordinates with HHS system areas and obtains responsive documents for requests.
• Reviews and redacts documents and provides responsive information to requestors.
• Prepares briefs addressing confidentiality of information for the Office of the Attorney General.
