Job summary

The MU College of Veterinary Medicine seeks a full-time, non-tenure track faculty member in Veterinary Surgical Oncology to support the Surgical Oncology section at the Veterinary Health Center. The hire could be at assistant, associate, or full rank, with 12–24 months of fellowship training expected during the appointment under current faculty supervision.

Responsibilities include teaching students and residents, contributing to curricula, and representing the college to external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent (VMD, BVSc).
• Residency training approved by ACVS or ECVS before start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical instruction to students, interns, and residents in surgical oncology, soft tissue surgery, and perioperative medicine using VHC caseload.
• Contribute to professional and graduate curriculum with classroom and lab instruction; online instruction possible.
• Represent the University, College, and VHC to outreach stakeholders.
• Share after-hours call with other faculty and house officers.
• Participate in clinical, resident, or house officer research or collaborative projects; no requirement to build independent funded program.
• Engage in faculty governance activities.
• Perform other duties in support of Oncology and Surgery sections, department, college, and university.
