The UNC Nutrition Research Institute (NRI) and the Department of Nutrition jointly seek up to four tenure‑track faculty members with expertise in nutrigenetic/nutrigenomic causes of metabolic and nutrition variation. Candidates will develop a research program focused on nutritionally relevant genetic polymorphisms, copy number variations, epigenetic mechanisms, microbiome‑gene interactions, and genes that modulate circadian rhythms in metabolism. Work may involve bench or epidemiologic methods, and investigators may work in cells, animal models, or humans. The role is located at the NRI on the North Carolina Research Campus in Kannapolis, near Charlotte, NC. The appointment will be at the assistant, associate, or full professor level depending on experience, research, and scholarly accomplishments. The Department of Nutrition is part of the Gillings School of Global Public Health and the School of Medicine and is ranked among the top five nutrition departments in the country.
An earned doctorate in an appropriate discipline.
Candidates should demonstrate the ability to establish and collaborate in multidisciplinary, funded research programs; publish in quality journals; and possess a clear track record of scholarly accomplishment and teaching capacity.
