Job summary

The University of Virginia School of Medicine is recruiting an Academic Open Rank Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery with a subspecialty focus in hand and upper extremity surgery. Board-eligible or board-certified candidates with a fellowship in Hand Surgery and a track record of academic productivity are sought.

Qualifications

• MD required and board-eligible or board-certified.
• Fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery (Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand Surgery) is required.
• Evidence of academic productivity or research.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care for hand and upper-extremity conditions at UVA Health System.
• Join a 30-physician orthopaedic faculty group and participate in on-call coverage.
• Perform surgery in both inpatient and outpatient settings; contribute to research.
