Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field, completed before the start date.
• Associate Professor: six years at the rank of Assistant Professor or equivalent.
• Professor: six years at the rank of Associate Professor or equivalent.
• Evidence of effective undergraduate teaching is preferred, especially in introductory physics.
• Theoretical or experimental expertise that complements current faculty strengths is preferred.
• External funding experience or potential is preferred.
• Experience advising and mentoring undergraduates is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach introductory physics (Physics 1 and 2) and courses at all levels of the physics curriculum
• Build a theoretical or experimental research program that involves undergraduates
• Advise and mentor physics majors
• Contribute to department and University service
