The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Department of Pediatrics is recruiting an open rank/open track clinical faculty member in Pediatric Cardiology with a focus on electrophysiology. The incumbent will join a growing team of electrophysiologists and participate in patient care, teaching, and scholarly activities.

Qualifications

  • MD candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Cardiology and have completed advanced fellowship training in Electrophysiology.
  • The successful candidate will participate in clinical care, teaching medical students and housestaff, and pursue clinical research.
  • Leadership opportunities within the Division may be available.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pediatric electrophysiology services, including invasive procedures.
  • Educate medical students and residents.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the UNC Children’s Hospital multidisciplinary team.

Position Summary

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine is recruiting for an open rank/open track clinical faculty position for the Division of Pediatric Cardiology. We are seeking a faculty member to join our growing Division to augment our team of Electrophysiologists. The ideal candidate should be skilled in all aspects of Electrophysiology including invasive procedures. Our Division also embraces skills in the practice of ambulatory and inpatient pediatric cardiology. The faculty member will be involved in the education of medical students and house staff. Clinical research and quality improvement interests will be encouraged. This position also lends itself to potential leadership opportunities within the Division.

As a top-tier academic medical center, UNC Children’s upholds a four-tiered mission to ‘ CARE ,’ aligning clinical care, advocacy, research, and education to deliver world-class family-centered care. The North Carolina Children’s Hospital is the clinical home of UNC Children’s which has 150 inpatient beds including: 64-bed inpatient unit, 58-bed Newborn Critical Care Center and 20-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit which also houses the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit with dedicated faculty and staff. Our multidisciplinary experts work in satellite clinics across the state and deliver state of the art tertiary care at UNC Children’s.

Minimum Education And Experience Requirements

MD Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Cardiology and have completed advanced fellowship training in Electrophysiology.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience

The successful candidate will have completed a 4th year of subspecialty training in electrophysiology. The candidate should be board certified / eligible in Pediatric Cardiology.
