NC State University’s Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering invites applications for open‑rank, tenure‑track faculty positions. We welcome candidates whose research and teaching align with AI, optimization, data science, and national/international importance across ISE.

You will build an externally funded research program, publish in top venues, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and mentor students while collaborating across disciplines and with industry and government

Qualifications

Demonstrated expertise in AI, optimization, and/or quantum computing.
Strong methodological foundation with potential to publish impactful research.
Proven ability to develop and sustain externally funded research programs.
Commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching, advising and mentorship.
Commitment to outreach and engagement aligned with the university mission.

Responsibilities

Build and sustain an externally funded research program in ISE.
Disseminate high-impact research through publications and presentations.
Develop interdisciplinary collaborations across NC State and external partners.
Teach and develop courses at undergraduate and graduate levels.
Mentor graduate students and support their academic and professional development.
Contribute to department, college and university service and leadership.
