Job summary

PCOM Georgia is seeking a vibrant Osteopathic Physician to join the Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine faculty at the Suwanee campus. The candidate will teach DO medical students in years 1–4, lecturing, lab sessions, and clinical mentoring, while engaging in Osteopathic patient care in the specialty clinic.

Responsibilities

  • Teach OMS-1 & OMS-2 students at PCOM Georgia.
  • Contribute to education of osteopathic medical students in lecture, lab and clinical settings.
  • Supervise and teach OMS-3 & OMS-4 students and osteopathic residents.
  • Provide service in the Osteopathic Specialty Clinic.
  • Evaluate student progress via practical assessments.
  • Serve in leadership/membership roles on college/faculty committees.

Job Title: Open Rank Faculty - OMM

Department: Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) (Victoria Troncoso)

FLSA: United States of America (Exempt)

Location: Suwannee Campus

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

PCOM Georgia is looking for a vibrant and collaborative Osteopathic Physician with a passion for teaching and Osteopathic patient care. The candidate should incorporate Osteopathic principles routinely into patient care, be well versed in various Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine modalities, be a team player and enjoy teaching. The candidate should be able to participate in contemporary teaching approaches and modalities, including but not limited to:up to date understanding of Osteopathic modalities, use of contemporary electronic platforms designed for collaboration and education and electronic medical records.

In addition to the above, the candidate must also have a profound appreciation for the history and heritage of the Osteopathic profession and be dedicated to the teaching of Osteopathic Principles and modalities. The candidate will be joining an extremely collaborative and hard‑working group of colleagues who exemplify the above ideals and are dedicated to the education and preservation of osteopathic principles.

All faculty are expected to teach DO medical students at PCOM Suwanee GA in years 1-4. Years 1 and 2 involve lecturing and lab sessions weekly and years 3 and 4 involve integrated OMM sessions and mentoring students rotating in the clinic. Additionally, the position involves patient care in the Osteopathic Specialty Clinic, the mentoring of students, student TA's and OMM scholars and administrative duties as assigned by the OPP chair and /or the Dean.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Candidate must be in current excellent professional standing and continue to maintain high professional standards in all aspects of professional service.
  • Candidate will participate in the education of OMS-1 & OMS-2 students at PCOM Georgia.
  • Candidate will contribute to the education of Osteopathic medical students in lecture, laboratory and clinical settings.
  • Candidate will supervise and teach OMS-3 & OMS-4 students, as well as Osteopathic primary care residents assigned to the service.
  • Candidate will provide service in the current Osteopathic Specialty Clinic.
  • Candidate will evaluate student progress in the development of appropriate medical knowledge by practical assessments.
  • Candidate will serve in leadership and membership roles in college, faculty committees as directed by the Dean.
  • Other duties as assigned by OMM Chair or Campus Dean.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Two years teaching Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine in lecture, lab and small group settings or the equivalent.
  • Participation in an osteopathic scholarship/fellowship program is favorable.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:
  • D.O. or M.D. degree and Board Eligibility or Board Certification in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine or its equivalent.
  • Maintain active medical licenses and board certification in NMM or other appropriate primary care board certification with its equivalent proficiency in OMM.
  • Participation in Osteopathic education, CME's, seminars, and education in adjunct treatment modalities are beneficial.

Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience, education, and the responsibilities of the role.

The referenced salary range is based on PCOM good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
